Uniting St. Louis’ high school journalists.
What We Do
We’re committed to providing a central, censorship-free platform for the high school journalists of St. Louis.
Our city is home to numerous high schools, creating networks and communities made up of families from several schools. Despite this interconnectedness, an important element remains fragmented – our stories. A void exists when it comes to a unified platform showcasing a collection of our school’s diverse stories, this is what we aim to address. We are a unique window into St. Louis’ vibrant high school culture.
Our ultimate goal is to host a journalism conference in the spring, 314 Media Day. An opportunity for students to spend a day with journalists, professors, and guest speakers. All for free.

THE FIGHT FOR
STUDENT PRESS FREEDOM
Currently, Missouri has no legislation protecting student’s press rights. We support the New Voices Act —a nonpartisan, student-driven grassroots effort to restore and protect student press freedom. New Voices works with state legislatures to pass laws supporting these goals. The Missouri legislature has considered the Cronkite New Voices Act several times, find out how you can help towards passing as the legislative session begins in January 2024.
OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE FUTURE
At 314 in Focus Magazine, we're dedicated to empowering the next generation of journalists while aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
